To import data from point-of-sale systems into Security Center, you must install the Transaction Finder plugin on a Security Center server and on all client workstations.
Before you begin
- Your server meets the recommended system requirements.
- A compatible version of Security Center is installed.
What you should know
- Parsers are downloaded and installed from a separate package which must be obtained by your Genetec™ representative.
- Although it is possible to host the plugin role on any server, it is a best practice to host that role on a dedicated expansion server for best system performance.
- For your operators to have access to the features added by this plugin, you must install this plugin on all Security Center client workstations.
- An Elasticsearch database is included in the plugin installation package. The package creates a pre-configured Elasticsearch instance that is deployed automatically as a service to run on the target system. Elasticsearch can be collocated with the plugin or installed on a separate server (standalone).
- During the installation of the plugin, all available parsers for local connection are installed as a Windows service. Parsers can also be installed remotely. The remote parsers are in the Parser folder of the installation package. Do not install remote parsers on the same computer as the plugin role.
