There are three ways to configure the Genetec™ Update Service (GUS). If your client stations do not have access to the Internet, you must configure a proxy.
What you should know
- No proxy: GUS has direct access to the Internet (Direct Connection)
- Proxy in the same network: One or more GUS using the proxy to retrieve updates (Proxy)
- Proxy in a demilitarized zone (DMZ): One or more GUS using the proxy in a DMZ to retrieve updates (Proxy DMZ)
NOTE: In a proxy setup, client machines go through the proxy to check for and download
updates. Use the default ports for configuring a proxy. For more information about Ports
used in Security Center, see the Security
Center Administrator Guide.
