To create hotlists with custom fields, you must first create the required template.
Before you begin
- Manage hotlists privilege granted to your user role.
- A list of all fields in the source plate list file.
What you should know
Procedure

Click Configuration > Hotlists > Templates.
All the templates in your system page are displayed.

Click Add.
- In the Name field, enter a name for a template.

If the plate list uses delimiters, select Use delimiters
and choose the delimiter from the drop-down menu.
NOTE: If the file uses fixed lengths to separate fields, then specify the fixed lengths for each column listed in the Hotlist columns section.
- If the plate list has a header row, select First line is a header.

To add a new field, click Add column and enter the
following information:
- In the Name field, enter the name of the field.
- Select the type of field from the Kind drop-down menu.
- Select Mandatory if the field is required for a successful plate list upload.
- If the plate list uses a fixed length to separate fields, specify the Column length.
- Click Add.

(Optional) If you added a Category column, do the
following to configure custom mappings in the Category
mappings section:
- (Optional) To apply category mappings from existing templates, click Apply mappings from drop-down, and select the required mapping.
- Edit the categories as required.

To add new categories, click . Enter the required
Character, and
Definition.
NOTE: If you need to apply mappings from another template, always apply mappings first and then add new categories.

(Optional) In the Hotlist columns section, you can perform
the following actions:
- Click to remove any columns.
- Click to edit existing columns.
- Click to rearrange the columns according to the plate list.
- Click Create.
