Airport employee privileges must be defined in advance so that they can be requested as part of an airport badge application.

What you should know

Airport employee privileges are used to describe activities that airport employees are allowed to perform, such as accessing airport ramps or escorting visitors. They should not to be confused with Security Center privileges.
You can define as many privileges as necessary. Two of them are defined by the system. They are:
Authorized signatory
Grants an airport employee the authority to sign badge applications for other employees of their company. Each company represented at the airport must have at least one employee with this privilege.
SIDA
Grants an airport employee access to Security Identification Display Areas (SIDA). Employees who have the Authorized signatory privilege must also be granted the SIDA privilege.

Procedure

  1. From the Airport Badging Solution role's Properties page, in the Airport employee privileges section, click Add ().
The Add privilege dialog box opens.
Adding an employee privilege with an associated image.
  2. Enter the following fields and click OK.
    Name
Unique name used to identify this privilege in the Airport Badging Solution.
NOTE: You cannot change the name of the system-defined privileges.
    Description
    Full description of this privilege.
    Training
Option indicating whether employees must first complete a training before they can earn their badge.
NOTE: All system-defined privileges require training. You cannot remove the training requirement from system-defined privileges.
    Approval authority email
(Future use) Email of the authorized signatory who must approve the granting of this privilege.
    Image
(Optional) Image used to represent this privilege on airport ID badges.

To show an image on a badge, you must be able to reference that image on the badge template. To do so, you must define two cardholder custom fields to represent this employee privilege in Security Center. For the full instruction, see Mapping badge application fields to custom fields.
