To enable the Airport Badging Solution in Security Center, you must install the Airport Badging Solution plugin on Security Center servers and client workstations.

Before you begin

Ensure the following:

What you should know

The Airport Badging Solution plugin (or ABS plugin) is an access control plugin that adds the necessary role, tasks, privileges, and custom fields to Security Center to manage airport ID badge applications, background checks, and the issuance of physical badges to cardholders. The plugin has a server and a client component. Therefore, you must install the plugin on:
  • The server hosting the ABS role. A dedicated expansion server is recommended.

If role failover is required, install the ABS plugin on all servers you plan to assign to the ABS role.

  • The Security Desk workstations used to run the Airport Badging Solution tasks.

Procedure

  1. Open the GTAP Product Download page.
  2. From the Download Finder list, select your version of Security Center.
  3. Search for your package by name and download it.
  4. Click the downloaded .exe file to unzip it.
By default, the file is unzipped to C:\Genetec.
  5. Stop the Genetec server, and close Security Desk and Config Tool.
  6. Open the extracted folder, right-click the setup.exe file, and click Run as administrator.
  7. Follow the installation instructions.
On the Destination Folder page, pay attention to the following:
    • You must select your Designated Aviation Channeler (DAC) service. You cannot change your selection after the installation.
    • Clear the Install Aware SDK option only if the plugin is installed on a workstation that is not connected to a fingerprint scanner.
  8. On the Installation Wizard Completed page, click Finish.
IMPORTANT: The Restart Genetec™ Server option is selected by default. You can clear this option if you do not want to restart the Genetec™ Server immediately. However, you must restart the Genetec™ Server to complete the installation.
