The supported maximum PIN length and the method for entering the PIN depend on the lock model and the selected reader mode.
Reader modes
- Card and PIN only works with the Always schedule.
- When the reader is in Card or PIN mode, the PIN credential works only if the cardholder also has a card credential.
- The supported maximum PIN entry timeout is 255 seconds.
Sx and Cx type locks
The following applies to SARGENT Cx locks, Corbin Russwin Cx locks IN120 and IN220, and all Sx locks. When the reader is in the following modes, you must enter the PIN accordingly:- Card or PIN
- Enter the 1 to 6 digit PIN followed by '*'.
- Card and PIN
- Present the card, then enter the 1 to 6 digit PIN followed by '*'.
Px, Sx, and Cx type locks
The following applies to specific locks:
When the
reader is in the following modes, you must enter the PIN accordingly:- All Px locks
- Sx locks running Hx firmware
- SARGENT Cx lock Passport 1000 P1 and P2
- Corbin Russwin Cx locks Access 700 PIP1 and PWI1
- SARGENT and Corbin Russwin Cx locks IN120 and IN220 with a PERSONA serial number
- Card or PIN
- Only 6-digit PINs are supported. Enter '#' followed by the 6-digit PIN.
- Card and PIN
- Only 4-digit PINs are supported. Present the card, then enter the 4-digit PIN.
