You can view the number of hits common to multiple regions of interest for a specific time period, using the Hits (Multi-region) report.
What you should know
Procedure
- From the homepage, open the Hits (Multi-region) task.

To restrict your search to one or more specific areas, click the
Region filter and create one or more regions in your map as
follows:
- Click Switch to map mode.

To draw a region such as a rectangle or a polygon, click Draw
region and do the following:
- Click the map to create the first endpoint and drag the mouse pointer in the required direction.
- Click every time for each endpoint you want to create.
- Click the first endpoint to close the polygon.
A numbered Region box is created. -
To import regions using KML files, do the following:
- Click .
- Select the required KML files.
- Click Open.
NOTE: If an imported region has inner boundaries, it is not supported. For example: if you import a donut shape region, the inner boundary is automatically filled. - To resize the region, drag the required endpoints.
- To move the region, drag each endpoint to the required location.
- Create other regions as required.

Select the regions of interest.
To view all the regions you created, click in the Filters tab.

Set up the other query filter for your report. Choose one or more of the following
filters:
- Event timestamp
- Define the time range for the query. You can define the time range for a specific period or a relative period, such as the previous week or the previous month.
- Hit rules
- Select the hit rules to include in the report.
- License plate
- Enter a full or partial license plate number. To enter multiple license plates, see Filtering a report with multiple license plates
- ALPR units - Patrollers
- Restrict the search to Patroller units and fixed ALPR units.
- Protection status
- Restrict the search to protected or unprotected hit events.
- Post matched status
- Specify whether the hit was post matched.

Click Generate report.
The reads that are common to all regions you have defined are listed in the report pane.

(Optional) To add columns to the report pane, do the following:
- Right-click a column name in the report pane.

Click Select columns on the pop-up menu. You can also use
keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+C.
- From the Available columns menu, select required columns and click .
- Click OK.
Tip: You can add annotation fields as columns in the report pane. - (Optional) To view high resolution images in the Plate image and Context image columns, expand the corresponding column width. For more information, see Customizing ALPR image quality displayed in report pane columns

View your query results in the canvas, in one of the following modes:
- Tile mode
- To show the ALPR event in a tile, double-click or drag the item from the report pane to the canvas.
- Map mode
- To locate an ALPR event on the map, double-click the item in the report pane.
